Does your clinic need a website? What patients in Pakistan look for

Many clinics in Pakistan get by with a Facebook page and a phone number. That works until a patient searches Google for a specialist in your area and finds a clinic down the road that has a proper page with its doctors, timings and a “Book” button.

A clinic website isn’t about looking big. It answers the questions a patient has before they decide to visit, and lets them act on it straight away.

What patients want to know

Patients open a clinic’s website with a few questions in mind. If the page answers them in the first minute, they book. If not, they go back to Google.

  1. Is there a doctor here for my problem? Each doctor’s name, specialty and the conditions they treat.
  2. Can I trust this doctor? A real photo, qualifications such as MBBS or FCPS, and years of experience.
  3. When can I come? Timings for each doctor, not just the clinic’s opening hours.
  4. Where is it? The address, a map, and nearby landmarks.
  5. How much will it cost? Consultation fees, if you’re comfortable showing them.
  6. How do I book? A booking button, a WhatsApp number, or both.

The pages a clinic website needs

You can cover all of that with a handful of sections:

  • Home: who you are, in one or two sentences, and a booking button.
  • Doctors: one card per doctor, with a photo, specialty, qualifications and a link to book that doctor.
  • Services or departments: what patients can come to you for, with prices if you like.
  • Timings and location: opening hours, a map, parking and landmarks.
  • Contact: phone, WhatsApp and email.

Make booking the easiest thing on the page

The most useful thing a clinic website can do is turn a visitor into a booked appointment. A “Call us” link only works during office hours. Online booking works at midnight, when many patients make up their minds.

With eMedics Pro, every clinic gets a website with booking built in: patients go from a doctor’s profile to a free slot in a couple of taps, and only see times that are really free.

Write for patients, not for other doctors

  • Use plain words. “Skin, hair and nail problems” is clearer to most patients than “dermatological conditions”.
  • Add Urdu where your patients prefer it.
  • Keep it short. Patients scan on a phone; they don’t read long paragraphs.

Make it work on a phone

Almost all of your visitors will open the site on a phone, often on a slow connection. Check that the doctor list, timings and booking button are easy to use on a small screen, and that pages load quickly.

Help Google find you

A website helps your clinic appear when patients search for a specialty in your area. A few basics go a long way:

  • Mention your city and area naturally, for example “child specialist in North Nazimabad, Karachi”.
  • Give each doctor and each service a clear heading.
  • Link your website from your Google Business Profile, and the profile from your website.
  • Keep timings and fees up to date. Old information loses patients’ trust quickly.

What to leave out

  • Stock photos of doctors who don’t work at your clinic. Patients notice, and it costs you trust.
  • Long welcome messages and mission statements.
  • Anything about a patient’s treatment. Patient privacy comes first, including in testimonials.
